Swan Mountain Outfitters is located inside Glacier National Park and has several locations in the park to choose from. They have now added a West Glacier location just across the street from Great Northern Resort, and offers a variety of times and rides throughout the day. Saddle up for an exclusive morning trail ride at Lake McDonald corral in Glacier National Park followed by an exciting afternoon of whitewater rafting.
Most guests prefer to do the trail ride in the morning so they have a better opportunity to see wildlife and then return to Great Northern Resort after a lunch break. After a short drive up the canyon we put in for a half-day of whitewater adventure.

Great Northern Resort has teamed up with our neighbor, Kruger Helicop-Tours right here in West Glacier. Kruger Helicop-Tours will take you on an amazing tour where you will soar over some of the most spectacular scenery in the world! You will see glaciers and mountain peaks that were formed millions of years ago as well as valleys, lakes and waterfalls almost too breathtaking to describe. The price above is for a Half Hour private tour for 2 guests. Please let us know if you would not mind sharing your helicopter ride with other guests and the price will be adjusted accordingly.
You can choose to go rafting at 10:15am, 11:15am, 2:15pm or 3:15pm. You will go on an exhilarating whitewater raft trip on the Middle Fork of the Flathead, which is the Southern Boundary of Glacier National Park, apart from it being a fun trip, you will get to see Glacier Park from a completely different perspective that most visitors don't get to experience.

Overnight Saddle and Fish Package - 3 day horse ride and fly fishing combination

Guests check in at the West Glacier Corral behind the Rawhide Trading Post at 9:00 in the morning. While we go over important safety information with you, our experienced guides will be packing up your gear in preparation for our overnight adventure. We will spend the day exploring the forest, enjoying a hearty lunch on the trail and taking in the beauty of Glacier. In the late afternoon, we'll arrive at our Outfitter Camp, complete with wall tents and a fire pit. You'll have time to get settled before indulging in a traditional cowboy dinner with all the trimmings (dinners consist of a Montana steak cooked over open flame, baked beans, green salad, corn on the cob and a roll - chicken, veggie burger or fish fillet are available if you do not want steak). You'll cap off the night, fireside, gazing at more stars than you ever knew existed. The next morning, we'll have our fill of hearty Montana breakfast (consisting of eggs, bacon, toast with Huckleberry jam) before hitting the trail for a half day morning ride arriving back to the Corral just before noon.
At noon, your fly fishing guide will pick you up at the Corral and bring you to Great Northern Resort for a light lunch before you depart on your exciting fly fishing trip. This custom fishing trip enables Great Northern Guides to offer a variety of opportunities to meet the needs of each angler. Our experienced fishing guides know the river intimately and look forward to sharing their knowledge with you. Truly unspoiled, the region teems with fish and wildlife of all kinds. We’ll see to your comforts and prepare meals fit for a king. Our chef has her own organic garden from which she sources her vegetables, and the meat comes from local, responsible farms. We can cater to any dietary restriction or allergy you may have! Her delicious gourmet food is healthy but hearty at the same time, there is no better way to enjoy your meals than in the peaceful environment that is the wilderness in Northwest Montana! With the river at you feet and blanket of stars over your head, you’ll begin and end your days to the timeless sounds of the river.
